Bunnik
Bunnik is known for its rich history. Around 2,000 years ago, this settlement was occupied by the Romans and used as a trading post. Thanks to its central location formerly on the course of the Rhine, the Romans could easily transport goods to other places. Even after the departure of the Romans, it remained an important place for the Frisians and Franks.
Nowadays, signs of these occupations can be found in various parts of Bunnik. You can follow in the footsteps of the Romans with our Roman Limes trail (in Dutch). Or explore the surroundings of Bunnik from the water with the Ferry Through the Landscape. Along the way you'll hear, feel and see the beauty of Bunnik.
